What it is like to have kids

For all you out there with Kids you will know this feeling. For those out there with out kids here is a view of what it is like some days.

So I am sitting hear as a very sad New Englander and have no interest in talking about how the game was. However in all black clouds there is a silver lining. For me that was the Iron Man new trailer. When I first saw the car from Speed Racer I was very excited but then I saw the first preview and once again I felt let down from he comic to movie writers. Well my faith has been restored with the newest trailer for Iron Man.
I was very excited when they picked Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. The truth is that Robert Downey Jr.'s real life almost follows Tony Starks, so he is perfect. The problem with these kind of movies is always how do you make a super hero look believable enough. Well as you can see from this trailer it looks like they have done it.

Hell in a hand basket

I was born in 1968 and grew up with images of a war that we did not win. Movies like Hair, Terminator and Rambo. I also grew up playing war in my back yard with my friend Josh and my brother. We would run around and shot each other and think it was fun. In some ways I think we wanted to be heroes, people who cold make a difference. I remember looking through a coffee table book from time life and seeing the picture on the right. I remember thinking that what kind of people do things like that. I also remember think well at least it is not hear. It is so easy when you are young to believe you are safe at home. Why am I writing this? I went to the movies tonight and so the newest Rambo, just because I wanted to see something I really did not have to think to much about. Instead it made me think a lot. The movie was your typical Rambo movie with to much blood and gore and very little plot. It Made me think how people are always blaming movies or television with violence in the world. What it made me realize is that writers do not come up with this stuff just out of there heads but take the ideas from what is happening around us. We may worry about Global warming or famine in third world counties but the truth is it is not what we do to the plant it is what we do to each other. Not just in remote places of the world were we can sit hear and believe we re safe but right in our own back yards. Pick up any paper and turn to any page and see the evil things we do to each other.
What is a hero? I am not sure any more. It use to be anyone who would fight for his country or give his life to protect. The definition is right as broad. "a man distinguished by exceptional courage and nobility and strength" "champion: someone who fights for a cause" . We all have our issues that we deal with everyday, I wish I could say we could change the world and I know there are those out there who say we can and I truly hope so but think about this. The world has not changed that much in thousands of years. We have new technologies sure but the one thing that has never change no matter how much we talk about we still do horrible things to each other.
Can we all get alone? I believe we can if we would stop worry what the other person has or what they beleive and just remember that no matter what we are all people of earth and that is it.

Speed Racer

Well I had a great conversation with Josh and I felt I needed to get this into my Blog before he did. For people like Josh and I who grew up on Speed Racer and other great Japanese cartoons the idea of turning it into a live action film is great but scary.

However once I saw this image of the Mach 5 my whole opinion change. This has to be the best translation of cartoon to real life. Don't get me wrong the Batmobiles were all great but they were all made to what people thought it should look like rather then what it did look like. This is right right off the screen. The only thing a don't know is whether it is going to have all the gadgets that the cartoon had but if you watch the unveiling you get the feeling they are looking to make this true to the series. I just hope they don't let use down as so many other comic to live have done.

This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.

First Entry

After years of reading my friend Josh's Blog I thought it was about time that I started one myself. I am not sure that I will be as profound as he is or that I will update as much as he does but I think this will be a great way to get my thoughts out. To start with this week Jane is in Miami which is one reason I have so much time to be able to start this Blog. She is on a Business trip for her company and is having a pretty good time but would much rather be home. The last couple of days have been weird with out her hear. I have had lots of help which is great.
